Description
The idea of writing a work on the ‘Freedom of Speech for Members of Parliament in Tanzania’ did not emerge from abstract; rather it arose out of a concrete situation which happened in August 2007 in Tanzania’s Parliamentary House. The incident generated a political backlash. Noise was made, demonstrations were conducted and public rallies were held. Even those citizens who traditionally do not make follow up of politics became aware that something had happened. The news of the event occupied front page headlines of most dailies in Tanzania.
